Bob Beattie has 40 years experience in both retail and wholesale management in sporting goods, toys, electronics, school supplies, and music. Bob has lived on Long Island, New York for most of his life. Locally Bob has managed Gubbins Running Ahead, a sporting goods store, for 20 years.

Bob Beattie founded the East End Road and Trail Runners Club 18 years ago, and has held various offices in that organization. The East End Road & Trail Runners Club was founded Feb. 2, 1994. There were only a handful of races at the time and no organized way of finding out about races. The clubs purpose was and still is to inform runners, organize new events, and support existing events. The first year we started a newsletter and organized three new events. The club runs about 12 of its’ own races every year and helps out at many more. The club has helped many organization start new races and encourages all runners to join their local running clubs.

Today Bob organizes and times over 70 races a year for various non profit organizations, including the Southampton Village PBA, and has been an adviser to the race organization committee for Southampton Rotary's Firecracker 8k, Cancer Care's Berry Blast 5k, Ellen's Run and many others.
